Jake Matthew Rivers is a cellist and singer-songwriter from Glen Rock, PA . At the age of eight, Jake gravitated to taking up the cello and later, adapting acoustic guitar. In time, Jake began to experiment with sounds that focused on rhythmic and percussive stylings. Beginning his musical journey at the age of 8 with cello lessons at school, music began to click. Since then, he has been exploring new sounds and effects. This has led to the use of the cello as a rhythmic and percussive instrument. Highly Recognized for his unique singer/song writer style, Jake entertains his audience with a personal and engaging performance mixed with modern-day sounds to deliver a true musical lovers experience. Jake has been lauded for his modern rock, tenor range that has been inspired by such artists as The Killers, Benn Sollee and Jeff Buckley. Incorporating a looper to record and playback segments, allowing him to create an entire ensemble. As a singer, Jake is known for his tenor rock belting and range. His style has been influenced from other artists such as The Killers, Ben Sollee, Claude Debussy, and Jeff Buckley. He aims to create music that has both the big choruses of arena rock to achieve the intimate fan connection of singer-songwriter folk as well as the complexity of a concert work.
